Richard Emrys Jones, born, 1st quarter of 1896 and registered in Swansea, Wales.1

 Parents: Richard O. (Head), an Auctioneer’s Clerk, age 34, born, Penmaenmark, Caernarvonshire, Wales and Elizabeth A. Jones, age 35, born, Rhyl, Flintshire, Wales. Daughter: Lizzie E. age 2. Son: Richard E. age 5. Both children were born in Cockett, Glamorgan.  They lived in Gendros, in the Parish of Cockett, District of Llangyfelach.2

Richard Owen (Head), an Accountant, age 44 and Elizabeth Ann Jones, married: 17 years, 3 children born alive and 2 still living. Daughter: Lizzie Ellen, at School, age12 and Son: Richard Emrys, at School, age 15. They all spoke both Welsh and English. The family Lived at 2 Fairwood Terrace, Fforestfach, Swansea.3*

Richard Emrys Jones, Death: Died of Wounds in France and Flanders, Enlisted: Swansea.4

Private Richard Emrys Jones, Son of Mr. R. O. and Mrs. E. A. Jones, of Meadowslea, Forest Fach, Swansea.  Died: age 21, 8th November 1917, Cheshire Regiment, 13 Battalion. Buried: at grave reference, VI. H. 10. Bethune Town Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.7

“Jones.-Mrs. R. D. Jones and Miss. Jones, “Meadowslea,” Ravenhill desire to thank their numerous friends for their kind sympathy at the loss of their dearly beloved son and brother Richard Emrys Jones, 13 Cheshires who died of wounds on November 8th in France”8
